New WT...Revised...The Name Jehovah
by Legacy inis jehovah a hebrew name?
why i ask, because last night after the agm meeting i was thinking...would god name himself a jewish name, since he in not partial...would he name himself a name that folks could get all puffed up about & say see...god is a jew.
also, jesus, well, he came from the line of jews, not really.

God never named himself. Those who wrote and translated named "God" "in their image".

OK - I've had it - My letter to the KH
by LisaRose inthe whole time i lived in colorado, i had the dubs come by once and leave a tract.
but since moving to california, they are at my door so often i asked them to put me on the "do not call" list.
this did not stop them, in fact i have asked four times, plus once i called the kingdom hall and left a message, they still come, the last time this past saturday.

Really great letter! Take this letter...have it notarized...seal it and then send it to yourself. This is a way to prove that you gave them ample and written and dated notice. Do not open this unless you have to go to court or have a restraining order. Keep all dates on calender that they come to your door...having them put their signatures or initials on your calender with time.

Boeings "Dreamliner" starting to look like a nightmare.
by Glander ini am truly surprised to see boeing trying to roll out a plane so full of bugs and flaws.
hope they can get things straightened out.
major us industry giant, lots of jobs..

The Boeing that created this plane is in name only. McDonnald bought Boeing. McDonnald is very famous for it's hatred for organized labour. I think you could trace every problem for this plane is it dispersement (outsourcing) of it's parts. Oops the wings don't fit. It was their way to minimize costs....but at what cost? The generations of Boeing workers had a pride of results, they were vested in the sucess of their products. Outsourcing to other cheaper deals to people who don't really care about the success of the product but live for the temporary jobs outsourced to them abrigates the quality of the product. In time this aircraft will be fixed, however if they had chosen to get it right the first time it would have saved billions of dollars in grounding and refitting to remanufacturing. I've been a Flight Attendant for 35 years and I will not step on this plane for a long time. The amount of politics, lobbying, the FAA being controlled by special interests, is no help in building quality aircraft.

IMHO Paul is nothing less than the first giant hijacker of Jesus teachings. Jesus never taught what Paul taught. I pay no attention to his BS.

Do you detect an underlying sadness ?
by Phizzy inwhenever i talk to jw's, and even in some of the jw official videos, i detect a definite vibe of sadness coming off these people.. i am very sensitive to "atmospheres" and to peoples emotional state, you wouldn't think so, because more often than not i do not react to what i detect, i just let people get on with it.. but i do get this feeling that they are sad, probably because very, very, very deep down they realise that it is all false, maybe ?.

I can't speak to their "realizing deep down that it is not the Truth". I do see that there is a huge hole in their hearts of non-fullfillment. Living for what isn't and will not ever be.

Does Anyone Remember the "Around The World Assemblies"?
by titch inso, being that it is 2013, i recall that it was 50 years ago, that the "around the world assemblies" were held.
for those of us who lived in southern california, the first week of september was when we had the assembly, and it was held at the rose bowl in pasadena.
yep, the rose bowl, with no seats, per se, but just those hard benches as seats.

I think I was 11 at the Rosebowl DC. My mom and I drove from Seattle in my dad's 60VW. I fainted from the heat while waitin in line for lunch. I woke up in the 1st aid area. It was the HEAT. OMG THE HEAT. We volunteered in the snow cone booth. At least we were in the shade. Snow cones were a giant draw for wasps. My mom started in the San Pedro Cong (an old movie theatre...we would have to scrub the outside weekly because many drunks pee'd in the entrance). She had a woman friend Sister Casey. She died and she had a lot of kids. My mom wanted to adopt her youngest, Sherman Casey. We brought him home and holy cow what a mess. She told him to go to bed and when my brother tried to force him to his room he said, "I'm going to blow a hole in your belly so big you can stick your head thru". That was that. I've wondered what ever happened to him. He was scary tho. I also remember not understanding one word uttered as the delay from each speaker echoed so bad. The news papers had a running headline as Billy Graham was having some convention. For him they would tally up the total from all days....the JWs just that day's number. I loved that we stayed in a motel where I could jump in the pool for a few hours to get my body temp and sticky sweat off of me. I think I remember there being a not very noticible choir section singing the four part notes from the green songbook.

WATCHTOWER IN A PANIC!
by JW GoneBad injws are in need of more kingdom halls in many major u.s. cities.
at this years agm where it is expected that most of the faithful will be able to listen to the meeting (being tied in by video), dont be surprised if the wts 8 gb members take part in a symposium delivering some long winded appeal, petition, plea, proposal, proposition, solicitation or otherwise hit-on the masses for $$$ in order to lighten the burden and overuse that many kingdom halls are experiencing.
an acquaintance from the west coast mentioned to me that in late august thru early september of this year that a number of pow-wows involving close to 5,000 elders from numerous areas (riverside, los angeles, ventura and orange counties) took place to drum up financial support from the 800+ (not sure) congregations in those areas.

Interesting change of direction by Pope Francis
by besty inhttp://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-pope-francis-gays-20130919,0,6719110.story.
tribune news wire reports8:54 p.m. cdt, september 19, 2013. vatican citypope francis said the catholic church must shake off an obsession with teachings on abortion, contraception and homosexuality and become more merciful or risk the collapse of its entire moral edifice "like a house of cards".. .
in a dramatically blunt interview with an italian jesuit journal, francis said the church had "locked itself up in small things, in small-minded rules" and should not be so prone to condemn.. .
